• May 25, 2002 - A special performance of Mark O'Connor's Appalachia Waltz with the San Diego Symphony - John-Michael played viola with young violinists from around the San Diego area
• November 10, 2001 and November 9, 2002 - Played fiddle tunes for the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, at Balboa Park
• May 9, 2001 - Played for the opening of a joint meeting of five Rotary clubs in Encinitas, California
