Recent Awards:

• 2008-09 San Diego Youth Symphony season, John-Michael was awarded the position of "Maurice Kawashima Associate Concertmaster
• 2006-2008 SCPA - Ludwig Van Beethoven award for Musician of the Year
• 2008 - Itzhak Perlman award for best musician in the SCPA orchestra

Past Awards:

• Placed Superior in all categories in the Wind and String Ensemble Adjudication held by the Sweetwater High School District

First place in the Small Fry Division at the Annual Old Time Fiddling Championships Prosser, Washington - April, 1999

Third place in the Small Fry Division at the  National Oldtime Fiddling Contest  Weiser, Idaho - June, 1999

• Summer 1999- "Pint-sized performers take center stage" - John-Michael is featured in Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen's quarterly newsletter, Capital Letters
• August 1999- Scheduled performer at the Kitsap County Fair - picture and article in a special publication of the Kitsap Newspaper Group
• April 1999 - "8-year-old Longview violinist is believed to have become the youngest person ever to give the Legislature's daily invocation" - "Longview boy, 8, serenades the Legislature" - "Pint-sized fiddler makes debut at state Capital" - John-Michael is featured in The Daily News, a Longview newspaper
• February 1999 - A trip to the Wintergrass "99" Festival found John-Michael at the Sheraton Tacoma Hotel tuning his banjo with help from Dan Stacey, Benicia, CA. - Featured in The News Tribune, a Tacoma newspaper
• April 1998 - Performance at the 13th Shelton Old Time Fiddlers Fest - John-Michael is featured in the Shelton-Mason County Journal
